What is an IP address?
An IP address is a unique number assigned to your device on the internet. It lets servers know where to send data — like your home address for internet traffic.
What is the difference between IPv4 and IPv6?
IPv4 uses a 32-bit format (e.g. 192.168.1.1) supporting ~4 billion addresses. IPv6 uses 128-bit format (e.g. 2001:db8::1) to support trillions more — introduced as IPv4 addresses ran out.
What is Reverse DNS (RDNS)?
Reverse DNS maps an IP address back to a hostname. It's the opposite of a regular DNS lookup. Email servers use RDNS to verify that the sending IP belongs to the stated domain — important for email deliverability.
Is this location accurate?
IP geolocation gives an approximate location based on ISP data — usually accurate to the city level, sometimes to the region. It is not GPS-based and cannot pinpoint your exact address.
